FETISH FASHION PARTY IN COPENHAGEN CONTINUES AS A WEEKEND

Fans of European fetish weekends have an additional destination to consider this September, as Denmark’s ManiFest organisation once again expands its annual Fetish Fashion Party in Copenhagen into a full weekend with nine events over three days.

ManiFest has been running frequent fetish parties in and around Copenhagen since 1995 — primarily open to club members and their guests only, in order to comply with Danish laws. But its annual Fetish Fashion Parties have always been a rather different beast, less heavily branded as ManiFest events and open to all-comers (subject to meeting the dresscode) without membership requirements.

Last year saw an important step in the organisers’ longterm objective to give the Fetish Fashion Party the same kind of international appeal enjoyed by events like Berlin’s German Fetish Ball Weekend. Already having, in Copenhagen, a location with plenty of tourist allure (albeit at the pricier end of things), in 2022 they added another essential element to increase attendance: an expanded programme to make an extended stay more attractive to visiting fetish fans.

This year’s Fetish Fashion Party Weekend again runs for three days — from Friday to Sunday September 15-17 — with the headline event on Saturday 16 at Copenhagen’s Docken (The Dock) venue, a modern, 3000-capacity harbourside events centre with hotel accommodation.

Fashion shows so far announced at this strict dresscode night (from 21:00 to 06:00) are by Dutch latex label Liquid Latex (see top image) and Copenhagen store Homoware. There will be performances by Andrea Ropes (IT), The Deanne (CA), The Baron (FI) and The Boys (DK), plus local and international DJs. Dedicated spaces within the venue will include a Redroom, Darkroom, Cruising Zone, Vacuum Lounge, BDSM Dungeon and Chill Out Lounge.

OFFICIAL WARM-UP: The 2023 programme will start on Friday 15 with the weekend’s Official Warm-Up jointly hosted by Fetish Fashion Party and Marquis Magazine at The Boat CPH. In the heart of Copenhagen Harbour, the Boat will accommodate two consecutive gatherings: a Casual Tapas Dinner (18:30-20:00, DKK200/€27, bookable in advance) followed by a free-entry Casual Meetup (starting at 20:00 with a Happy Hour). PEACOCK’N’SHOCK: Alternatively, Friday offers the Peacock’n’Shock dressocde party, kicking off at 19:00 at BDSM Kastellet in Landskrona, Sweden, which is just across the water from Copenhagen, about halfway between Malmo and Helsinborg. The emphasis is very much on ‘contrasts, fashion, expression and dark fantasies’ and all the venue’s playrooms will be open for guests’ use. Doors close at 20:30, tickets cost SEK250/apx €21 and this is a no-cash venue.

SLM FRIDAY IN FETISH: Scandinvian Leather Men, the biggest gay fetish club in Scandinavia, opens its doors at 21:00 for this men-only event of Fetish Fashion Party Weekend. This BDSM and fetish club for gay and bisexual men who like leather, rubber and uniforms etc is located very close to the Town Hall Square right in the centre of Copenhagen. This is the one event of the weekend that requires membership, but showing your Fetish Fashion Party ticket will work as SLM B-Membership, reducing cost of entry to just DKK50. With no Fetish Fashion Party ticket, you can purchase SLM membership at the entrance or on the website slm-cph.dk. Memberships starts at DKK125 including entrance fee.
