SPRING FETISH FEVER: OUR HOT TEN TIPS FOR EVENTS IN APRIL & MAY
With spring fetish fever unmistakably in the air, we offer a selection of ten hot-ticket events taking place in the UK, Europe and the United States between now and the end of May. OBSCENE – EROTIC, FETISH & BDSM FAIR

One of the newer events that have tapped into the German taste for large ‘adult’ fairs with substantial fetish/BDSM content, Obscene’s Karlsruhe location may be less familiar outside Germany than Berlin or Munich, but sitting in a triangle between Stuttgart, Strasbourg and Mannheim, it is well-placed to reach audiences that other fairs can’t. One week before it opens, the event is listing just shy of 100 exhibitors, with a strong German contingent as you might expect, and a mix of well-known names and local brands that you might not see anywhere else.

The only fetish party event we’re aware of whose website is available in six languages, Luxuria has been making a determined effort in the last few years to put Hungary’s capital Budapest on the international fetish map. Its Symbol club venue will play host next weekend to more than a dozen stage performances but also a Dungeon (complete with BDSM Worskhop), Red Room, Vacuum Corner and Photo Corner. There’ll also be a small market where a selection of designers will be showing their wares, with a strong emphasis on leather items and clothing.

Torture Garden continues its now familiar splitting of its Birthday Ball Weekend across two regular venues — Scala and Electrowerkz — with its usual three timed-entry slots plus anytime entry at small extra cost. For the first time, TG has also instigated an offer of 50 peak entry tickets at the discounted price of just £25, an idea being tested with a view to carrying it forward. There’ll be the usual mix of TG-quality performances and DJs. Both venues include a dungeon and couples room, and Electrowerkz features TG’s club within a club ‘with TG dancers and DJs keeping things XXX’.

Denmark’s capital might seem a bit off the beaten track, fetish-wise, but the city is beautiful (if not cheap) for a weekend break or more, and ManiFest has been hosting its particular brand of members-only pervy partying for a very long time. This particular edition is “especially dedicated to high heel enthusiasts, boot lovers, and those who find beauty in the strength of a collar or the figure hugging shape of a corset”. Which sounds to us like pretty much everyone! Membership of ManiFest is free, guests are permitted and signing up online to buy tickets is a simple process.
April 20 Zurich

Outside Switzerland, Fetish Fusion is probably the best know of Zurich-based Utopia Fetish de Luxe’s numerous events, perhaps because this one is co-hosted with SubRosaDictum, Munich’s big fetish partying brand. DJs for this event will be Angelica Fravi, Shady Miles, Nico Mariani and Alfred Kanzler, while the hosts also promise the chance to meet International artists, models and kinksters (albeit as yet unnamed).

Considering the size of Leipzig’s W-G-T goth-fest — and its substantial fetish crossover appeal too, given the number of fetish brands that like to exhibit there — its dissemination of relevant programme information can sometimes seem a little haphazard. However, we do have details of the bands scheduled to play. FetishFactory’s big annual gathering is now four days with new/renamed events supporting its 29th Anniversary Ball on May 24. The Ball, MC’d by Jezebelle Red, will feature performances by Cervena Fox (above) and Mirage En Duo. BOUNDCON INTERNATIONAL FETISH CONVENTION

Inspired by Las Vegas bondage convention BondCon and launched in Munich in 2004, the 19th edition of Boundcon features 100-plus exhibitors and brands from the BDSM and fetish scenes plus performances, panel discussions, hardcore rope and BDSM action, bondage workshops and much more. Munich party brand SubRosaDictum (which also stages Avantgardista at Motorworld in September) hosts the official BoundCon After-Show Party, normally at Kesselhaus but this year at Dampfdom in the heart of Motorworld. SRD also hosts a lounge and fetish stage within the convention.
May 25 Rome

The 15th edition of this TG-franchised event, presented as usual by Italy’s pre-eminent fetish clubbing organisation, Ritual, promises to be a “full-scale Torture Garden event taking place in Rome”. The main stage line-up at Qube Rome includes Allen TG on the decks, with shows from pole/hair suspension artist Mel Lee, plus Ritual, Sylvester, and London latex brand Pandora Deluxe presenting a fashion show. The venue’s Full Play Floor will feature performances by Banshee and Ixen Daariv.
