LONDON STORE NEWS: FAB.LONDON AND CHARMSKOOL SHOWROOM

Less than a month after the opening of London’s newest kink-orientated store, Charmskool Showroom, comes sadder London store news — that the popular Camden Stables fetish boutique FAB.London has announced it is to close in April.

The impending closure of the FAB.London shop — at Unit 99a, First Floor, The Stables Market, Chalk Farm Road, London, NW1 8AH — is, states owner Max Deviant, due to Camden Market evicting all the traders operating on the same floor as him to create a music venue for the whole block.

This means FAB’s last day of trading at the current premises will be Saturday April 19 (Easter Saturday). However, Max adds that his online store at fab.london will continue to trade, and, furthermore, it will now do so alongside a new FAB.London eBay shop he has just created at maxdeviant1598. The eBay store has launched with a selection of Libidex latex and the store’s stock will be expanded “as I go along”, Max promises.

From what he has posted to date about the situation, Max hopes to find another location where he can resume trading with another bricks-and-mortar shop. So obviously we’ll keep our fingers crossed for that! Meanwhile, for the immediate future, we hear that the Camden shop will be holding a closing-down sale, starting on Wednesday March 19 and running until its final trading day on April 19.

For its final month of trading, FAB.London will be open Tuesdays–Saturdays from 11.30am to 6.30pm (closed Sundays and Mondays).

This week’s happier London store news is that Charmskool Showroom — opened by Le Boutique Bazaar co-founder Alexandra Houston in mid-February — seems to be settling in nicely at its new permanent home in Shadwell E1, and keeping its promise to be more than just a regular shop.

This “relaxed, open-minded and inclusive” store — at 111 Railway Arches, Cable Street, London E1 2LY — has been created to allow visitors to browse a revolving selection from Charmskool’s many participating designers, try pieces on and even place custom orders from the comfort of its seating area. It is also offering content creator sessions, personal and private shopping appointments — even space for small events.

The standard Charmskool Showroom opening hours (when there are no extended evening events) are as follows:
Monday and Tuesday: by appointment
Thursday, Friday, Saturday: 1pm – 7pm (but can be flexible)
Sunday: Closed
